crime fiction, detective fiction, golden age

The aim of this special issue is to bring to attention the significance of the Golden Age detective fiction within the wider context of crime fiction scholarship. Since the turn of the century, the study in crime fiction has grown exponentially. With increasing numbers of crime fiction-specific journals, conferences, and monographs, it is this special issue’s endeavour to mark out a specific space for Golden Age detective fiction. With this special issue, we aim to open new routes of research for international scholars, with the hope to set the ground for a fuller and more nuanced understanding of one of the richest, most influential, and yet marginalized and misunderstood periods in the history of crime literature.
